Life has a way of creeping up on a woman and then running her over, backing up, and running her over again. Today is my 59th birthday (arghhhhh!), which is essentially 60, right? I mean, it’s there, like a vulture waiting to pick at my aged bones.
A friend told me I need to make a bucket list. So, here is my list for the remaining time I have before the big 6-0 is a memory.
1. Learn Italian, so I’ll be able to understand the people I meet while traveling the Italian countryside.
2. Travel the Italian countryside.
3. Paint my house.
4. Meet Keanu Reeves, or Clive Owen, or some other cute, sexy guy who wants an old woman with ducks. (Actually, I don’t know if Keanu or Clive would want an old woman with ducks. I think they would.)
5. Dance more.
6. Laugh more.
7. Explore more.
8. Hug more.
9. Breathe more.
10. Shine more.
Not a bad bucket list. However, since the bucket is typically filled with cracked corn, I might have to make a few modifications. But I will not negotiate on Keanu or Clive.
Blessed be 🙂
Sixty in April 2015 and wonder where did the time go? Hope you do your bucket list! I spent summers growing up on the river, Elsie Ave. first house on the street, loved it. Quiet and pitch black at night back then. Sun sparkled on the river like diamonds in the morning. My grandparents and three of their friends all had their cottages built there 85 years ago. Much changed now.
Still dark at night except when the moon shines on the river. Owls calls and ducks quack as they dream of flying above the river. Blessing and cheer for your sixtith birthday in April. Stop by and we’ll salute growing old with some bread for the ducks and a cup of tea. Cheers.
Cheer up! You are the most adventurous woman ever! You look great, and have energy to work on your house along with all the other things you do. 59 is not so bad 🙂
