When I can’t sleep ….

… I count my blessings.

My first blessing is my son.

He’s there for me when I need a ladder held or an ear to listen.

Second blessing, my family and friends. They have watched me travel some bumpy roads and have been the emotional triple A that kept me going.

Next blessing, my home. When I cross the threshold on cold, dark nights I am instantly grateful. The furnace provides warmth, the lights block out the dark, and the roof keeps me dry.

A girl could get used to this kind of thing.

Blessing number four, the pets in my life. They love me unconditionally, even when I have bed head.

Fifth blessing, my physical (and emotional) strength. Aside from the occasional meltdown in my local Lowe’s store, I think I’m doing pretty good.

No list of blessings would be complete without (drum roll please) …… my ducks!

Brad and Angie arriving for dinner.

But, you knew that already.

Hmmmm, let’s see if I can come with an even six blessings. Although I would love to add Keanu Reeves to the list, I won’t. Not until I can hear his penetrating voice in person.

Yes, I know I’m fickle. First Ryan Gosling, then Clive Owen, and now Keanu. Face it, I melt for handsome men.

Okay, for my sixth blessing I’ll choose life. Ups and downs aside, life rocks. And that’s an all emcompassing blessing.

Brad, settling in for a nap.

Blessed be and Happy Thanksgiving.  ;}
